Why do Japanese say AOI for green objects?
Street lights are in fact Green but Japanese use the word AOI (Blue). WHy is that? I also found another example: The Green Tree Frog is called "Aoi Kaeru" or "Blue Frog" in Japan.

Advertising?
As I can't find any other contact information on this site, this seems to be the closest thing. Does Japan-linked.com offer advertising other then via google adwords? Hoping for a response.

Swepstakes
Hi: I am a member of a sweepstakes club in the US. We publish a sweepstakes bulletin for our members. We have several members that are from Japan and would like to follow sweepstakes in Japan. I would apreciate any information you may have on websites, magazines, clubs or newsletters that list sweepstakes in Japan. I would be happy to send a copy of our monthly bulletin of US sweepstakes to anybody that is interested. Thank you for your help. Richard Kurtzrock rkurtzrock@aol.com

Famous wedding city?
There's a city in Japan famous for its elaborate weddings-- including the still-typical practice of the bridegroom hiring a glass-sided truck and driving around with his generous dowry diaplayed within. Where the heck is this city, again? It's escaped me but is pecking away at my curiosity.

Why do Japanese say AOI for green objects?
Hi Sparky. I don't know that it's strictly true, but Japanese friends of mine have told me that they use "aoi" instead if "midori" because they're shades of the same color. I don't see it that way, but I guess I have gaijin eyes.
