Some American Idioms/Slang/Colloquial_expressions/Jargon

By being a Pen-Pal, helping with English, I made a list of "many" American Idioms/Slang/Colloquial_expressions/Jargon. Here is just a "tad-bit" of this list.

These are more used in "conversational" English. I live in the South (Florida, Georgia mostly)

Here is some of them

->Throw In My 2-Cents Worth
->No Sweat
->hold this over their head
->hook-line-and-sinker
->bent over backward
->your'e the cream in my coffee, the sugar in my bowl
->does not cut the mustard
->kiss of death
on and on..

Some American Idioms/Slang/Colloquial_expressions/Jargon

Is their any demand to go on with this. This is just a "drop in the bucket" of the list I have made.

If we want to continue, some ideas on what approach.

This is very helpful for learners. You should make a topic for each "American Idioms" "Slang" Etc. If you can contribute I will clean up the Topic headings for you.

Conitnue Some American Idioms/Slang/Colloquial_expressions/Jargon

To show what I have, I added a "tad-bit" more to the list.
I taken the ideas, and will attempt a "second-pass" at this.

->Throw In My 2-Cents Worth
->No Sweat
->hold this over their head
->hook-line-and-sinker
->bent over backward
->your'e the cream in my coffee, the sugar in my bowl
->does not cut the mustard
->kiss of death
->second-to-none
->the heavy lifting
(Britain and United states are doing "the heavy lifting" in the Iraq
war)
(Britain and United states are doing "the heavy lifting" in the Iraq
invasion)
(Britain and United states are doing "the heavy lifting" in the Iraq
occuption)
(i want to stay out-of-fights)
->Keep your eye on this
->ax to grind
(He always has an "ax to grind" in the meetings)
->attention wanders
(The Bush/Chenney administration's "attention wanders" too much)
->sends a signal
->crawl before we walk
->keep you eye on the ball
->hand-writing on the wall
->striking while the iron was hot
->genie is out of the bottle
->pull any punches
(he didn't "pull any punches " in the debate)
->off-the-wall
->work-this-out
->moved the goal posts
->don't "hold back" on us
->the boy who cried wolf
->He is "easy going"
->A drop in the bucket
(a small thing to do)
->his bark is much worse than his bite
->apples and oranges
...
... on and on..
......
