In Japan they have 2 minimum wages: a student, and adult.
But unlike most countries I have noticed most companies pay above the minimum wage!

Student minimum is 650yen I think
Adult 800yen

but in Tokyo most parttime jobs will pay between 800-1200yen
If you are teaching wages run from 1000-5000+ depending on the school.

When I lived in Tokyo I worked as a teacher I worked 23-26 hours per week and made about 260,000yen to 300,000yen per month Thats good money and very little work!

Just get over here....everything will work out in the end...if you work at it haha p

Can a student teach English there?
What kind of papers do you need for teaching English.
I heard that Asian are not so much desired as English teachers even though English is my 1st language.

Hello,

If you come to Japan with a Student Visa then yes you can work.
Although I hate to admit it Japan has always had discrimination against everyone in different feilds.

Asians have a more difficult time getting hired as Englsih teachers, but I feel it has been changing more and more each year the school I taught at in the begining did not discriminate against anyone which was very good.

If you are persistant I am sure you can find work.
