Ok, in planning for a trip to Japan, I made a huge error. I didn't take into account exactly how long transportation, mainly trains, takes to get around. I had planned to make it from Sapporo to the Ryukyu's in about 15 days. Is that even possible? ( I do know that to get between islands I need a ferry, not trains, lol not that stoopid.)

Thats a tough one I think 15 days is a little much for all of Japan I suggest going mabye from sapporo to kyoto. Then head to okinawa on your next trip. or
Do 3-4 major stops Sapporo Tokyo, Kyoto, Okinawa But with this way its best to fly.
Trains are fast but its all the little things inbetween that really take its toll on your travel plans. Here is the info on the JR rail Pass http://www.japanlinked.com/about_japan/ ... lpass.html
and yes you can take a ferry on it to hokaido

Yeah, I guess I should look at Okinawa and Sapporo as vacation spots once I get settled in over there.
