I am interested in practicing medicine in Japan later in my life. Does anyone have any information about policies of practicing in Japan to Japanese and foreigners or any experiences?

Very few foreigners practice medicine here, but I will check and see if I can find any information for you.

Like any job here in Japan, I suppose a prime requisite is ability to operate in japanese (including medical japanese) fluently. There are no lack of Japanese doctors in Japan and I'ld be quite leery of visiting a doctor who doesn't speak my language.

I'ld just hate to lose a lung to miscommunication ...

I agree, I think i've had too much dental work done because I couldn't discuss it with my doctor first - remember their are all looking for business
