  • It's Armin time again

Mr. Matrix, our friend from the decks, informs us that Armin Van Buuren will be coming @ageHa in November, the 23rd exactly.

As usual with ageHa, you are better off buying advance tickets, to avoid the 2+ hours long line for those without tickets.

..more info on advance ticket on a later post.

  • New clubs and updated info format

The club listing underwent a long overdue update.
It looks much like before, but the system behind makes it easier to update info and add new clubs (though it's still hard "work" for us to actually review those clubs ;).

Alux and the more famous Mado Lounge have been added along with smaller clubs such as Downtown Arena.

If you like Japanese Disco places, we suggest to check out Alux. If you are in Roppongi you must check out Mado Lounge.. if anything because it's the first club/lounge in Tokyo that puts smokers to cook their cigarettes in a separate room.

The club list doesn't yet offer any kind of searches, but it now allows to select between clubs that have been reviewed (that contain more meaningful info) and those clubs for which we only have basic infos.

Please remember to take the average ticket and drink prices with a grain of salt, as we can't possibly keep track of all the combination and changes in fares that may happen in any club at any time.

Also keep in mind that this list is far form exhaustive. Some clubs are still missing and some are likely to never be listed as there are just too many places to keep track of all of them.

    Enjoy !

  • Working on...

We (more like "I" 8) have been working on a new back-end for the clubs database.
Trying to move on with new technologies when not busy at work (very rarely !).

Please, hold on for a new improved club database coming soon (but not too soon !).

In the meantime, the word is that Yellow is closing down. If you like the place, drop by to give it a farewell.

Old clubs go and new one open. I haven't had a chance yet to try it, but I've heard some good things about Shibuya's Camelot. It seems that it somewhats inherits from the old Vanilla (Roppongi).. including special discounts for women and foreigners (!), with the proper flyer.

    ..until then..
    poof !

  • Good Yoji's performance at AMRAX

Yesterday I went to AMRAX in Shibuya with a couple of friends. It was my first time at the club, or so I thought. AMRAX is actually a new name for the good old Simoon.

The club extends o two floors. The entrance with a bar, some sofas and a DJ mixing lighter tunes, and the main dance floor below.

It was fairly crowded when we got in by 12, but by 2 AM, when the time Yoji took his turn, the dance floor was really packed.

There was a fair number of foreigners, and a good chunk of male "Shibuyans" (spiky hair, overly tanned skin).
Also a nice assortment of girls.

I was particularly happy with the performance because of a good dose of Trance mixes.

The ¥4000/1D admission price was certainly quite steep, but a link to the flyer from our Google Calendar above provided an "hefty" ¥500 discount.. wow 8)

One thing I didn't like so much was the drinks consistency. Lot's of juice and not much alcohol, for ¥700 a pop.
Tequila and Vodka shots seemed like better options at ¥600, and Red Bull + spirits was actually only ¥800 !!

    Anyhow, until next time..
    Enjoy your Golden Week 8)
