When you exit Harajuku station there are 2 Exits. One at The top of the hill, acrosss from "Snoopy", the second at the bottom of the hill across from the shopping street. almost everyone exits at the top for some reason. So I will describe everything from there. If you don't cross the street where "Snoopy" is and go to the right you will come to a small bridge its about a 30sec walk. This is where the Gothic Lolitas hang out. You can take pictures of them and chat with ect. They are very friendly. If you go past them you will come to the entrance of Yoyogi Koen (Park) it is the largest park in Tokyo. You can hang out and relax in there It is free to enter unlike Shinjuku Park. If you cross the street to "Snoopy" you can go into "Snoopy" haha. You have to choices from here "Right" or "Left." If you go "Right" you will be on your way to Omotesando This is one of the Expensive shopping districts real fancy with a lot of cool shops if you are rich and want to show off hang around here. There is also a large Toy store and a lot of cool designer trend shops. Laforet is a really cool clothing mall here as well. I suggest eating at "The Elephant." At the first major signal crossing photographers wait to take pictures of the latest hip people wear cool clothes. Think they will take your picture? Find out! If you go left you will go down the hill, You will come to Takeshita-Dori the used clothing stores this is a young shopping district. It is full of accessory shops, hip hop shops, tattoo shops, underwear shops, there are a lot of cool independent shops here. If you go all the way to the end of this road to the signal you have 3 choices "left" (no one goes left), straight(Across), "Right". Across the street is a surf shop if you go down the smaller streets you will find small independent designer shops really cool! if you go right you will be heading toward the Omtesando signal crossing, and Laforet as described above. Harajuku is a cool place to check out and can be a lot of fun, it is described as the young shopping district, mixed with trend fashion district. Plus you can check out the Goth Lolita's there. I got my tattoo done in Harajuku at a place called Scratch Addiction I highly recommend they did an amazing job. (Tatoos are crazy expensive in Japan be forewarned) Enjoy, Sparky Trackback(0)
